Well that was an interesting clay court season. First I just want to thank everyone for their support during last week at the French Open..it was really great. Scott and I had a good run and really felt that we could have gone a bit further but it was a great experience getting to the quarter finals none-the-less. Scott also went on to win the mixed doubles there which is so incredibly cool. To say you are a grand slam champ in any of the events is something really special...fired up for him. We actually went in to the tournament not feeling so good because we didn't have a great practice leading up to our first match. It's amazing though how being in the right mind set can turn that type of thing around so that we actually started to play some pretty good tennis. With all that in mind reaching the quarter finals of a grand slam on clay (least favorite surface) and having my partner win the mixed is very encouraging.

Now its on to the fun stuff though..the grass court season. Although its so short (4 weeks long) it's my favorite time of the year. I got to London yesterday and had my first hit at the Queen's Club to get ready for the event this coming week. The tradition alone with tennis in England is just amazing. It's where the game started and all of the greatest players of all time have competed here at Queen's and obviously at Wimbledon in a few weeks. Hopefully I'll be here in London for a while. I think thats it for now...time to head over for practice...thanks again to all that read my blog and visit my website. Feel free to post any questions you might have..I'll do my best in answering them.

Hi all,

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I just got back to Indy from Mexico yesterday..Mexico is an interesting place because no matter how hard you try most everyone has a bout with something of a stomach bug every time you go there..this time is no exception for me. Unfortunately, that was the least of my worries though as i hurt my calf in my second round of singles in the tournament. I got an MRI on it yesterday and it showed a slight tear in it which requires me to rest for 7-10 days..brutal. I've had this injury more than a few times so its getting quite frustrating..I'm still looking for a way to try and cure it once and for all. For now it's just rest and rehab and trying to get it better. Injuries are a big part of pro sports as everyone gets them from time to time and the only thing on the athlete's mind is how quickly can I get back to competition. Days become pretty boring because your job during most of the recovery period is to rest...but I guess thats part of the deal. My daily schedule consists now of treatment for about an hour a day and resting during the remainder of the time. On a brighter note I have a meeting tonight to talk about my charity event, EntourRAJ for Kids, for this year. Really looking forward to that as the event was a great success last year. That's all for now...looking forward to hearing from you all.

From the couch,
Rajeev

So I'm writing this entry from a seat on an AirTran flight to Ft. Lauderdale. Truthfully, a lot of my blogs might be written from a similar position. As a pro tennis player I travel the world for about 30 weeks of the year. I'm actually going to Florida just for the night though to do a charity event for a friend, Bryon Gill at his club. Some of you Indy based folks might know the Gill family as they have been in the tennis scene there for many years..good people. Then it's off to Leon, Mexico to play a challenger event for the week. I try and postpone the clay court season as much as possible (clay and I don't get along so well) so I'm not going to Europe for a few weeks yet. Had a good week of practice and training at home in Indy so I'm feeling ready to go. I actually hit 3 times at 3 different places..IRC, CRC and Meridian Hills. Anyway that's all for now..gonna try and catch a few zzzz's before the end of this flight.

From 35,000,
Raj

Q&A 4/3/2011 - Question answered by Rajeev
What advice would you offer to young players?
Rajeev: The most important part about tennis is having fun with it. The minute you stop enjoying it is when it becomes really hard to improve.

Q&A 3/29/2011 - Question answered by Rajeev
What was your most embarrassing moment on the court?
Rajeev: My first pro tournament was here in Indy. I changed my shirt between sets and I didn't even realize it. Someone in the crowd told me my shirt was on backwards and I had to fix it. I was so embarrassed. I was, like, 19 years old.
